Chesney Blue, RDN is a nationally known, award winning Registered Dietitian Nutritionist working in the nutrition industry for over 15 years.   She recently served as president of the New Jersey Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics the largest organization for food and nutrition professionals in the state of NJ.

 

 

Chesney has worked in a variety of community, clinical and outpatient settings.  As a dietitian at local healthcare facilities in the NJ/NYC metro area, she has gained a lot of knowledge and experience communicating nutrition education and program planning effectively to a diverse population across the lifespan along with advocating for nutrition programs and legislation throughout the state and nation. 

 

Chesney has also worked as a critical care dietitian, provided home care visits to the elderly, conducted outpatient nutrition counseling at a medical facility and has taught diabetes classes for a faith based wellness program with Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Somerset.  Chesney has been awarded the New Jersey Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year and Rutgers University Maternal Child Health fellowship. In addition, Chesney is heavily involved in her community, serving as a volunteer and leader in a variety of community based organizations which include being the wellness coordinator for the Body and Soul Wellness Program at Park Avenue Christian Church and as a member of the Junior League of the Oranges and Short Hills. 

 

 

Chesney received a Bachelors of Science degree in Nutritional Sciences from Howard University in Washington, DC and completed her dietetic internship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (now Rutgers University). She obtained her masters in public health at Rutgers University.

 

 

Philosophy:  Chesney believes in the possibility of good health at every size.  Not everyone is meant to be a size 0 or 2 dress size.  We are all individuals and we don’t promote a one size fits all counseling approach.  Along with you, the client, Chesney will help you develop realistic individualized goals to meet your long term lifestyle needs where you can incorporate healthy, cultural and favorite foods into you meal plan.
